The research on Vitamin D has been extensive in the past 10 years and it is thought that a majority of the population is deficient. The benefits of supplementing with Vitamin D are far reaching, affecting a number of common conditions: mood, blood sugar control, blood pressure regulation, and immune system function.

- Vitamin D3 enhances mood in healthy subjects during winter.
Given our northern hemisphere climate and lack of sun exposure from October through May (Sad isn't it?!!), we just do not produce enough Vitamin D3 for proper function. Since our skin produces Vitamin D3 in response to the sun, we typically need about 30 minutes of full body exposure to the sun. So if you're rockin swim trunks, or a bikini, or maybe you're European and prefer the au'natural approach to sunbathing (we're not judging!), you are likely going to get enough in the summer months but from fall through spring, you are likely going to drop to low or below normal levels and can suffer from some or all of the symptoms noted above.
To combat this, we typically recommend a chocolate chewable highly absorbable 5,000 IU tablet. We have them in stock and it is one of the easiest things you can do in order to improve your health!
