What can Chiropractors do to help with insomnia?
1. We'll often try various supplements/herbal combinations:
Some of the typical things are; calcium, magnesium, Vitamin D3, Vitamin B12, lavender, chamomile, valerian root, and melatonin (assure you can mix these with any prescription meds you are taking by consulting with your primary doctor and/or pharmacist).
2. We'll modify your diet: eat dark leafy greens and bright colored veggies, lots of fruit, eggs, lean meat (fish and chicken), olive oil. Avoid : refined grains and lots of sugary foods, juices, junk foods and alcohol, and too much red meat.
3. We'll try some adjustments and acupuncture. Typical treatment plans involve weekly sessions for 5-6 weeks and then taper down if sleep is improved.
