We often provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices.  We can assess your diet on any of your visits to our office.  Occasionally, it is necessary to perform a food diary for a week or more in order to get an accurate assessment on your current diet habits.  From there, recommendations are made and often profound health changes are seen within several weeks.  "Diet" in our society is often confused with the meaning "restrictive eating" or with the often worse "fad diets".  Your "diet" is a lifestyle, not a  two or three month 'restrictive' period where you avoid sugar or fat.  This is unhealthy and often leads to more weight gain and an even unhealthier lifestyle.  Changes that are made in your diet lifestyle should be long term and thus the results long standing.  The only way this is done is through education and knowing what and just as important, when to eat.
