DR. TRACY J. SMITH
I was 16 years old, had recently suffered a knee injury playing sports, and was sent for a visit to a local Chiropractor. After my initial evaluation, I was treated and returned for several treatments thereafter. On one of my return visits, I was taken to an "overflow" area in the back as they were quite busy. I sat on a chair with electrical stimulation therapy on my leg. From this area, I was able to see down the hallway where the treatment rooms were. I looked around and watched people literally limp into treatment rooms and leave upright and appearing pain free. I was fascinated that these doctors could use their hands to provide people with such immediate relief. It was at that moment I knew I wanted to become a Chiropractor.
Following undergraduate and professional schooling, I opened up my practice in Sioux Falls in February 2001. In the fall of 2002, I moved my practice an began Natural Arts Chiropractic & Acupuncture with my lovely and talented wife. I have enjoyed watching our practice grow, seeing so many people leave our office pain free and living a healthier life.
I am a big believer in what we do, not just from seeing it in my practice, but from personal experience. With the use of adjustments, traction, acupuncture, and massage therapy, I have overcome ruptured discs in my neck and lower back without the need for surgery. This alone was worth the time dedicated to becoming a Chiropractor as having 5 wonderful and energetic children requires a healthy spine!
