Dr. Tracy J. Smith
A native of Huron, South Dakota, Dr. Tracy obtained his undergraduate degree from Northern State University in 1997. After receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in November 2000, he opened up a practice in Sioux Falls in 2001. In September 2002, he co-founded Natural Arts Chiropractic & Acupuncture with his wife, Dr. Tricia Schwartz-Smith.
In addition to treating the common day to day complaints, Dr. Tracy has special interests in treating disc problems (bulge, rupture, deteriorated) utilizing gentle spinal decompression on a specialized traction table. He obtained his acupuncture certification in October 2006. He co-authored a physical rehabilitation manual and routinely utilizes these exercise protocols in his patient care. He enjoys working with people in creating a healthier lifestyle involving nutrition counseling and exercise planning. Dr. Tracy believes that the healthiest people are those that obtain passive care (adjustments, massage, medical care, etc) for the things they cannot control and are very active with the things they can control (diet, exercise, physical rehabilitation, nutrition). He believe this enviornment allows his patients to be as healthy as they are motivated to be.
Dr. Tracy is board certified to practice Chiropractic and Acupuncture in the State of South Dakota. He is also a member in good standing with both the South Dakota Chiropractic Association (SDCA) and the American Chiropractic Association (ACA).
Dr. Tracy enjoys Sioux Falls and spending time with his wife and their five children.
