DR. TRICIA SCHWARTZ-SMITH
When I was 15, I was at a gymnastics camp and did a back flip and landed awkwardly on my head and neck. I couldn't move it very well and assumed that I had really messed up my neck. After the initial shock was over, I started to move about and after realizing I could move my arms and legs, nobody was real concerned about spinal cord injury, so I was sent home and told to see a doctor when I could. The next day, my parents took me to a local Chiropractor for the first time. I walked in a little nervous but walked out of there that day with full range of motion and a completely pain free neck. I remember telling my mother as we left that was what I wanted to do.
On my journey through schooling, I considered the different types of healthcare. Allopathic, Chiropractic, Osteopathic. As I researched the different philosophies and areas of focus, I came to the conclusion I would continue on to Chiropractic school. Following graduation in the winter of 2000, I moved to Sioux Falls and opened up my first practice. I moved that practice in the spring of 2002 and opened up Natural Arts with my husband.
I thoroughly enjoy practicing and caring for my patients, and am fortunate enough to be able to do so in such a great community. My husband and I feel blessed to be able to raise our five children in Sioux Falls.
