DR. TRACY J. SMITH
After suffering a knee injury playing high school football, I was sent to a Chiropractor for treatment and remember quite clearly seeing people literally limp into treatment rooms and leave upright and appearing fine. I was fascinated how these doctors could provide people with such immediate relief. That day I began looking into a career in chiropractic.
Following graduate school in 2001, I began practice in Sioux Falls and one year later, I opened Natural Arts Chiropractic & Acupuncture with my lovely wife Tricia. We enjoy working together and between the two of us, we cover a lot of ground in terms of conditions we treat. With the use
of our therapies, I have
overcome ruptured discs in my neck and back without the need for
surgery or extensive medications. This alone was worth the time
dedicated to becoming a Chiropractor as we have 5 wonderful and
energetic children to keep up with.
I enjoy practicing in such a great community and we have very good relationships with health care providers in all areas. I enjoy seeing providers work together to break down old barriers between medicine and chiropractic. While there will always be those at the extreme ends in any conflict, I choose to be in a position where I can serve my patients the most, and that position is one where I can work with providers of all types. The best providers I've come across in my lifetime are those that are humble, caring, open minded, ask lots of questions, and then deliver care based on what they've learned because they choose to service their patients' needs first. These are the providers I love working with and not surprisingly, so do my patients.

DR. TRICIA SCHWARTZ-SMITH
I was 15 years old at a gymnastics camp and did a back flip, landing awkwardly on my head and neck. I couldn't move it very well and after the initial shock was over, I started to move about and after realizing I could move my arms and legs, nobody present was real concerned about spinal cord injury, so I was sent home and told to see a doctor when I could. The next day, my parents took me to a local Chiropractor for the first time. I walked in a little nervous but walked out of there that day with full range of motion and a completely pain free neck. I remember telling my mother as we left that was what I wanted to do.
On my journey through schooling, I considered the different types of healthcare. Medicine, Chiropractic, Osteopathic. As I researched the different philosophies and areas of focus, I came to the conclusion I would continue on to Chiropractic school. Following graduation in the winter of 2000, I moved to Sioux Falls and opened up my first practice. I moved that practice in the spring of 2002 and opened up Natural Arts with my husband.
I thoroughly enjoy practicing and caring for my patients, and am fortunate enough to be able to do so in such a great community. My husband and I feel blessed to be able to raise our five children in Sioux Falls.
